Trial Day

Currently, we are not accepting new clients for Daycare. Please click our join waitlist button to be added to our waitlist!

If you’re new to daycare, boarding, or we haven’t seen you in 6 months, we require your dog to go through a trial day of daycare. Your dog's Trial Day acts as a sample day of daycare. During this time we will assess your dog with other dogs, how they respond to our nap time, and their overall comfort during their stay to be sure Dog Den is the right place for your 4 legged friend.

To keep peace with our neighbors, we can not accept excessive barkers.

We look forward to meeting you!

How to Register

We are currently experiencing a service request backlog, so to begin registration, please complete our waitlist form: https://forms.gle/ZHNXHUXniteqzAB7A.

Trial Day Requirements

Complete registration with vaccinations on file and a confirmed reservation. We do not accept same-day reservations or walk-ins.

Dog's must be crate trained.

Flat Collar: Dog(s) must wear a properly fitting flat collar. Dogs who wear harnesses daily must also be provided with a flat collar during their stay.

Why does my dog need a Trial Day?

To ensure safety for all of our dog guests, we require a trial day to get to know your dog. Trial days act as a sample day of daycare where your dog will run through the motions of a regular day of daycare.

If you’re new to daycare, boarding, or we haven’t seen you in 6 months, we require your dog to go through a trial day of daycare.

How does a dog fail during a Trial Day?

While we wish everyone could come and join us for Daycare or Boarding, there is a possibility your dog is not compatible with our facility. While some dogs may enjoy the presence of other dogs while with their owners at dog parks, etc., being away from mom and dad in a new place can sometimes be scary and cause dogs to act out differently.

Some things that can fail your dog during their trial day is including but not limited to:

- Not settling in the crate (excessively barking, pulling on the bars, trying to break the crate or reacting to dogs walking past).

- Poor interactions with staff members (growling, or snapping).

- Poor interactions with other dogs (growling, snapping, screaming).

- Overly nervous or anxious (excessively panting, pacing, hiding, etc.)

- Excessive barking (to keep peace with our neighbors we can not accept excessive barkers).

What to Bring for a Trial Day

Food - If your dog needs food during their visit, please bring your dogs food in a plastic or paper disposable container with their name on it. We can not accept glass. Dogs are required to eat in their crate.

Medication: If your dog needs medication, please email us at info@dogdenchicago.com to discuss your dog's medication schedule prior to requesting your trial day. There is a $5 per day medication fee.
