Puppy School
Congratulations on your new puppy! Dog Den’s puppy preschool is a 3 week immersive socialization program where your puppy will focus on preparing to be a well rounded adult dog. The world can be a scary place to some pups, so we focus on desensitizing them to various sights, sounds, smells, and handling exercises to help navigate the world better.

Training Method
Concept based training is a modern method that borrows from all previously established training methods. It involves the four quadrants of learning to clearly communicate to your dog about desired behaviors and undesired behaviors. It is a highly individualized approach to training. Concept training can be considered a form of balanced training and utilizes tools such as clickers, e-collars, toys, prongs, martingales, food, etc. to teach your dog. Our trainer will get to know your dog to help you both achieve your training goals.

Age Requirements
Puppies up to 4 months and who have received their first two round of vaccinations are welcome to join us for puppy school. Puppy School takes place right at our facility in Forest Park, Illinois on Monday, Tuesday - Thursday, Friday for 3 weeks.

What is Taught:
By participating in our Puppy School program your puppy will be introduced to their marker system (yes, good), begin recalls (coming when called), name recognition, foundations of basic obedience through luring, anchoring, tethering, and/or place. In addition, we will be enforcing and maintaining good crate and potty training habits along with proper socialization with other dogs and people.
Deposit

We require a nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit of $500 to reserve your dog's place. The remaining balance will be split into two separate payments. The firtst half of the remaining payments will be billed on the first day of the program and the second half on the last day of the program. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable to any other service. Please note, programs are first come first serve based on your deposit.

How to maintain your training:
While your dog is participating our Puppy School program, we encourage you to join us for 3 transfer lessons where you will see what your pup is learning and how to maintain their training. Once your dog has finished Puppy School, you have 5 private lessons that be used over the course of 6 months to help you maintain your training.
